FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do you take MaineCare?

No, we do not.

Do I need an appointment in order to be seen?

Yes. With the number of people who wish to be seen it would be pure chaos if we didn't limit to available appointments. We also need time to clean and disinfect the rooms between patients. Walk-ins are NOT allowed.

Even if it's an adjustment and it will only take 5 minutes?

Every patient needs to have a scheduled appointment. We cannot take any walk in patients, even if what we do only ends up taking 5 minutes.

If I am a previous patient but my husband/wife/child/best friend is not, can they still be scheduled as a previous patient?

We try to make exceptions for spouses, but otherwise we do ask that your siblings, children, and extended family understand that they are new patients and need to be seen where we have those appointments available.

Do I walk in when I arrive for my appointment?

Sure can! We are still working through our renovations so we don't have a very large waiting room yet. If that 1 lonely chair is free you are welcome to wait there until the treatment room is available, otherwise we will come get you at your car.

Is there a place to wait if my transportation cannot stay through my appointment?

No, we have no place to wait. We ask that you please have your transportation wait for your appointment to end. Most appointments are less than 30 minutes. Our waiting room is too small while we undergo renovations.

Do you take insurance?

There are thousands of insurance companies. We are NOT IN-NETWORK with any insurance company. As long as your insurance pays to out-of-network providers you should be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company. For many insurance companies that we work with all the time we can give you an estimate of what they will pay. You are responsible for the entire amount of what we charge, regardless of what your insurance company actually pays. We can only ESTIMATE what they will pay, it is not a guaranteed amount. Insurance companies reserve the right to deny any claim for any reason and this is out of our control.

Do you take Medicare?

For the state of Maine, there are 6 dental insurance options through Medicare. For 2023, as far as we know right now, Martin's Point/NE Delta is in-network only and will not pay for work done in our office. Anthem BS/BS with Liberty Dental is in-network only and will not pay for work done in our office but you MAY be able to send them the receipt for partial reimbursement. Humana has a new set of DEN000 plans in 2023. All of them have a fee schedule. They have also denied every claim we have sent them as we are not an approved type of provider for them. They will not pay for work done in our office. WellCare is in-network only and will not pay for work done in our office BUT if you have their HSA/FLEX credit card it will run through the credit card machine as it is not considered insurance. Aetna was new in 2022 and so far does pay for work done in our office up to your calendar year maximum. The percentage they pay depends upon your individual plan and could have changed in 2023. United Healthcare does pay for work done in our office as OUT of network providers but they do NOT pay 100% - they pay a portion depending on what your specific policy plan covers. We can estimate what this will be but you may have to pay additional money out of pocket if they do not pay what we estimate.

Do you have a public restroom?

Yes, we do.

Are you really booked out as far as you're telling me?

Unfortunately, yes we are. We are doing the best we can to see as many people as possible. We REALLY ARE giving you our next available appointment when you call.

Can I call and talk to Mike or Joe on the phone?

Our well trained staff should be able to answer most of the questions you have and will schedule any appointments you need. Since we have such a tight schedule, Joe and Mike are not usually available to take phone calls as they are in with patients. Anything that the staff cannot answer right away will be brought to them and they will either answer the question through the staff or call you back at their convenience. You will not get an earlier appointment if you try to go around the staff and schedule through them.

Do you have Saturday hours?

No, we do not. Our office hours are posted and we are closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Since an appointment is always needed it is best to call our office before coming over.

Do you offer a senior discount? Veteran's discount? Any other discount?

No, we do not. We work hard to make sure that our dentures and partials are affordable for everyone.

Do you have payment plans?

The denture or partial must be paid in full to leave the building (other than any pending insurance payment). You can make prepayments prior to making the denture and we can begin once you are down to your last payment. This is done interest-free and if at any time you need part or all of what you pre-paid returned to you we can return it in the way we received it. If someone else sent a check on your behalf, the check would be returned to them. If it is paid via credit card we would do a refund to the credit card. This may delay when you start on your denture and why we don't begin until we know there is only 1 payment left.
We also accept CareCredit and have applications in our office. They would pay us in full and you would be responsible for monthly payments to them.
